A secluded getaway in Truro, NS, where you’ll find “adventure, community, and solace” on Victoria Park. Whether you like to nestle down in your own tent, relax in a woodstove warmed yurt, or indulge in a shipping container cabin – it’s all available at Seek Wilderness Accommodations.
The Space

Glamping is definitely our preference, we love our creature comforts. So we stayed in the Hemlock: a two-story, fully-equipped-kitchen, hot-shower, rooftop-patio, private-hot-tub shipping container cabin. And LOVED it. Honestly it has everything one could need, down to linens, towels, a Keurig, and shower essentials.
The two bedroom cabin offers plush queen size beds at either end, with a cozy reading nook in between – board games included. Head upstairs to the perfect kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, and a table with seating and a gorgeous view through massive windows. Perfect for preparing a wonderful wilderness dinner… if you don’t opt for pizza delivery!
The rest of the top floor is an open air patio with seating. Trust me when I tell you that a cold beverage on a warm night with the endless star-filled sky above you compares to nothing else.
Step out to your private outdoor area to spark a bonfire, toast some marshmallows, and slip into your very own bubbly eco hot tub. Soak your cares away with nothing but the sounds of nature on your mind.
It’s very difficult to go home after a stay at Seek.
Oh! And there are also pet friendly cabins so that you can bring your favorite family members along for the adventure!
The Place

Sidled up to Victoria Park, a natural woodland park that spans 3,000 acres, you can easily access an extensive trail system for hiking and biking through natural gorges, waterfalls, tall trees and inspiring look-offs. There are also a shorter trail available to you right on the Seek property, if you’d rather keep it low key.
You’re also not far from downtown Truro, so if you’d enjoy some shopping, museums, cafes, or bar & restaurant activities before retreating into nature, it’s available to you!
For those enjoying the yurt or camping sites, there are shared washroom & shower facilities. There’s also a communal fire pit gathering area for the social butterflies.
Oh and I should also mention they have WiFi, and it’s good WiFi 🙂
The Updates

Since my stay here, Seek has made some additions to their incredible property. They now have a patio that is open daily to guests and to the public, offering drinks, snacks and more.
There is also a bike washing station and storage shed to lock up your bikes when not in use.
And last but not least – consider Seek’s Event Yurt for your next gathering. Think yoga retreat, wedding reception, corporate meetings; basically any group event would be made more memorable in this nature based venue.
Final Thoughts

An adventurer’s ideal base. A nature lover’s paradise. And a peaceful refuge for absolutely anyone who feels the need to disconnect, refresh, reset.
My memory of Seek sounds like a crackling fire, smells like crisp morning forest air, tastes like a maybe-too-well-toasted marshmallow, looks like a thousand stars on an impossibly dark sky, and feels like a flawless moment shared with loved ones.
Book early, because this place sells out quickly and for good reason. I hope you have the chance to stay at Seek, and I hope it leaves you with memories as fond as mine.
