The August House. An 11-room boutique inn and gathering space located in Windsor, Nova Scotia at the intersection of the Avon and Annapolis Valleys. A peaceful setting that is at the center of so many incredible things to do. We had the most amazing stay here, I can’t wait to share my experience!

The love and passion put into the renovations in this pre-1850 home are evident at every turn, every carefully chosen accent piece, every beckoning piece of furniture. A curated mix of heritage, vintage, classic, contemporary, relaxed, comfortable, and delightful. A little bit of everything that is good!

The August House has the space to accommodate everything from a 65-person wedding, to corporate or social retreats, to a solo escape. Enjoy incredibly comfy beds in beautifully designed rooms, an event hall, several lounge areas, stunning outdoor gardens (I seriously do mean stunning), and two cedar saunas with fire pit! We got to play cards in Myrtle’s Common Lounge while the record player hummed in the background. I sat for a while, reading by the sunny window up in the Writer’s Lounge. And I shared a tea with my mom outside in the terrace garden, chatting about everything and nothing.

I have to admit, amidst all of this my absolute favorite thing was the delicious HOMEMADE breakfast made fresh for all of the guests. The menu varies, but for us it was oatmeal with fruit & nuts, baked treats, and fresh tea. It truly felt like we’d been invited to a friend’s home for a lovely visit.

If you’re a local, you probably know that Windsor is a bit underrated. But with cafes, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, and more, the town has lots to offer – and this is just what’s walking distance from the August House! Travel a bit farther and you’ll find Ski Martock, plenty of wineries, breathtaking coastline, and some stunning golf courses.

If you’re ever visiting the Annapolis Valley area, this place is a must stay. You’ll feel incredibly at home in these comfortable beds, deep soaker tubs, and cozy sitting rooms.
